Protest is Dead!
We've been protesting in the rain only to get ignored, bypassed by politicians, kettled by the cops or even worse.
You may have even been to huge demonstrations, like the Iraq war – only to see Blair and Bush invade anyway, with “weapons of mass destruction” claims that turned out to be hollow...
These days peaceful protest has even been effectively criminalised.
Other Alternatives are Unviable
Politicians in the UK have achieved nothing. And even if you try to take action by giving to charity, it can feel disjointed and difficult to see any upside from your donation.
Time is Running Out!
Greece and Portugal are on fire as I write! We're seeing flash flooding all over the world and entire species are under threat and they still do nothing.
But we have a choice: we can take action now, or sit back and watch the disaster unfold for us and future generations.
The problem is that we've been playing the game they want us to play for too long.
Protesting is like asking the powers that be to dig a well; they can just ignore it. Instead, we need to take direct action. We need to dig the well and dare them to stop us. Which is precisely what we are doing...
But instead of digging wells, we're turning entire streets into renewable power stations up and down the country! Showing the powers what needs to be done....and how to do it! After completing our first street (bringing renewable energy to 16 homes), we are now ready to move on to the next 5 from around the UK!!

We believe that artists have a vital role to play in the fight for a fairer and more sustainable world - and that's why we have come up with the idea for this project - and that's why we're dedicating ourselves to making it happen!
But we're not alone. In fact, Power Station really isn't about us - it's about all of us, coming together and leading by example. Not in some far-off imagined future - but right here, right now!
If you join today you will get a chance to contribute through a paying membership or by buying our artworks as a one-off purchase. You don't have to pay anything to take part, but we do have a variety of paid offers which support the work we're doing.
We pride ourselves on giving great value to our backers, we create films, write books, do workshops - our films are on Netflix, one of them funded by the BFI (British Film Institute) and on Channel 4.
We use the proceeds of our works to actually put solar panels on civic buildings and on peoples' houses, as well as insulating and teaching thousands about how to take action and do the same! 40% of UK carbon emmissions come from our old leaky homes. This is why we focus on domestic.
Our art is collected by the V&A, The Smithsonian, it's been displayed next to Banksy and Stik at the Fitzwilliam in Cambridge as part of a major exhibition on currencies of war.. But we keep it affordable and accessible to all - we believe art and ideas should be in affordable to all.

What we do
We create Power Stations - entire streets which all have access to solar power. Lynmouth Road was our first street. The beauty of the fund-raising is that it makes solar power available to all who live on the street. This model not only creates clean power for the street but also brings communities together towards a common goal.

The Street by Street System
Now that we have managed to do the first street, we are working on raising the money to help 5 other streets across the UK turn themselves into Power Stations. After that, we will add another 25 and then another 50 and onwards, spreading out across the rooftops! There are millions of buildings across the UK, and our great, ambitious goal is to bring renewable energy to all of them and to cajole the so-called leaders in Westminster and beyond to follow our example and get on with it!

How the project is fuelled.
We fuel the Power Station project by the sale of our memberships and our exclusive artwork. We believe that artists lead social and economic change movements - that art is at the heart of making meaning, not only commenting through our artworks but by being active participants right at the heart of our communities. Our philosophy of art and the artworks we make are part of joining. Which is where you come in!
