What the press are saying

"At a time when divisive political rhetoric is more strident than ever, this charming documentary from film-making duo Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn is a healing balm."

Phuong Le
The Guardian

"This celebration of DIY-ism — mostly DIY-funded — is an antidote to the actuarial joylessness of modern British politics."

Sukhdev Sandhu
Prospect Magazine — Top 10 Films of 2026

"By turns funny and heartwarming, Power Station captures the life of a community and reveals the unexpected power of collective action, offering a testament to the art of the possible which isn't at the mercy of utility giants, government policy or the markets."

Morning Star
Four stars

"If we're going to save this life-giving world we're squatting on, we need radical, grassroots change — and Powell and Edelstyn are surging examples of its power."

Gabriel Wilding
Hackney Citizen

Can I watch it on my television?

Yes. It casts via Chromecast and AirPlay, or you can open the link directly in your TV's browser. It's a film about rooftops and it deserves the big screen.

What happens if I miss the live stream? Can I watch it later?

What are the Q&As?

A live Q&A post screening with director Dan Edelstyn and head of production, Mark Eris - Mark does the interview before opening to the floor.

Is it depressing?

No. It's funny — largely because we are frequently ridiculous. People tend to come out of it more energised than they went in.

Can I show it to a group?

Not on this licence — this one's for watching at home. If you want to show it to a room of people, whether that's a community centre or your front room with forty chairs, we'd love that: [REQUEST A SCREENING LICENCE HERE].

Do I need to be in the UK?

What if it doesn't work?

Email mark@power.film and he'll sort it. If you can't get in on the night, you'll still get the 48-hour replay.
